Mercedes-Benz TPMS Guide

MERCEDES-BENZ TPMS RELEARN PROCEDURE

Select your vehicle to find compatible tyre pressure sensors and follow the correct Mercedes-Benz TPMS relearn procedure. This page includes both the MERCEDES-3 / MER-3 relearn process and the older E-Class Auto Relearn Procedure.

Vehicle Finder

Select Your Vehicle to Find Compatible Tyre Pressure Sensors

Use the selector below to help customers choose the correct Mercedes-Benz TPMS sensor and programming solution.

Procedure Types

This page includes both a manual relearn / menu-based monitor activation procedure and an older auto relearn process for earlier Mercedes-Benz E-Class vehicles.

Before You Start

Make sure all tyres are set to the door placard pressure, the correct TPMS sensors are fitted, and any nearby wireless interference is reduced where possible.

Important Note

If REACTIVATE-TYRE PRESS. MONITOR! appears, repeat the relearn procedure. If CHECK TIRES! appears, tyre pressure is too low and must be corrected first.

Procedure 01

Relearn Procedure (MERCEDES-3 / MER-3)

Follow these steps to activate the tyre pressure monitor and allow the vehicle to learn the new sensor IDs.

  1. Make sure all tyres are inflated to the pressure recommended on the door placard.
  2. Disable all other WiFi, Bluetooth, and electronic accessory devices.
  3. Aftermarket devices such as HID kits, car audio systems, navigation, and back-up cameras may interfere with TPMS communication.
  4. Confirm all tyres are set correctly to the pressure shown on the tyre placard.
  5. Turn the ignition to the ON position with the engine off.
  6. Press the forward / back button on the steering wheel until the trip and odometer are displayed.
  7. Press the UP / DOWN button until tyre inflation pressure monitor is displayed.
  8. Hold down the reset button on the instrument cluster until MONITOR CURRENT TIRE PRESSURE? is displayed.
  9. Press the + button until TYRE PRESS. MONITOR ACTIVATED – PRESS. DISPLAY AFTER DRIVING A FEW MINS. is displayed.
  10. If REACTIVATE-TYRE PRESS. MONITOR! appears, repeat the relearn procedure.
  11. If CHECK TIRES! appears, tyre pressure is too low and must be adjusted correctly.
  12. Drive the vehicle for a minimum of 10 minutes to complete the relearn procedure and allow the system to learn the new sensor IDs.
Tip: If the warning light stays on, recheck tyre pressure, sensor compatibility, and possible signal interference before repeating the procedure.
Procedure 02

Auto Relearn Procedure – Mercedes-Benz E-Class (2000–2009)

Earlier E-Class vehicles may use this simpler auto relearn procedure.

  1. Confirm the TPMS sensors are properly installed.
  2. Adjust tyre pressures to the placard value.
  3. Activate the sensors with a TPMS activation tool.
  4. Drive the vehicle for up to 10 minutes.
Important: If the light does not clear, verify the correct sensor protocol and re-run the relearn process.
