MINI TPMS RELEARN PROCEDURE

Procedure Types

MINI vehicles may use either a steering-column button sequence or a TPM button reset method depending on the model and system fitted.

Before You Start

Make sure all tyres are adjusted to the correct pressure before attempting the relearn procedure.

Important Note

After the reset procedure is started, the vehicle must be driven for a few minutes before the system completes learning.

Procedure 01

Relearn Procedure – Type 1

Use this method on MINI vehicles that reset the TPMS through the turn indicator lever controls.

  1. Start the engine and keep the vehicle stationary.
  2. Briefly press the button in the turn indicator lever repeatedly until SET / INFO is displayed.
  3. Press and hold the button until the display changes.
  4. Repeatedly press the button briefly until the TPM symbol and ACTIVE are displayed.
  5. The TPMS can then be reset using RESET.
  6. Press and hold the button until RESETTING appears.
  7. Start driving. After a few minutes, the indicator lamp should go out.
Tip: Keep the vehicle stationary while performing the menu steps, then begin driving to complete the reset.
Procedure 02

Relearn Procedure – Type 2

Use this method on MINI vehicles fitted with a dedicated TPM button behind the gear selector.

  1. Start the engine and keep the vehicle stationary.
  2. Press the TPM button, located behind the gear selector.
  3. Hold the button until the yellow warning lamp in the display elements lights up yellow for several seconds.
  4. Start driving. After a few minutes, the indicator lamp should go out.
Important: If the light remains on, recheck tyre pressures and repeat the reset procedure.
