DIAGNOSTIC TOOLS

TPMS Diagnostic Tools

Choose the right TPMS tool for the job you need to complete

TPMS programming, sensor activation and OBD registration are different procedures. This page compares the four MyTPMS options so you can choose the correct tool for compatible sensor programming, cloning, diagnostics or vehicle ECU registration.

Bluetooth sensor programming TPMS OBD registration Handheld sensor diagnostics Complete DIY kit option

What do you need the tool to do?

Do not choose a tool only because it connects through Bluetooth or OBD. First identify whether you need to program a replacement sensor, read sensor data at the wheel, or register IDs into the vehicle ECU.

Program or clone AUTOMATE sensorsUse the Bluetooth Programmer when preparing compatible AUTOMATE replacement sensors.
Write IDs through the OBD portUse the OBD Reader Writer when a supported vehicle requires direct ECU registration.
Trigger and diagnose sensorsUse the A01 handheld tool to read compatible sensor IDs, pressure, temperature and battery condition.
Replace four sensors at homeChoose the Master Kit when you need sensors, a programmer and an OBD interface in one package.

AUTOMATE Bluetooth TPMS programmer and sensor cloning tool
Sensor programming and cloning AUTOMATE Bluetooth Programmer / Cloning Tool

A compact Bluetooth tool for activating, reading, programming and cloning compatible AUTOMATE TPMS sensors. It is the simplest option when the sensor itself needs to be prepared before or after fitment.

Programs compatible AUTOMATE sensors only. Confirm protocol, frequency and vehicle workflow before use.

Bluetooth TPMS OBD reader and sensor ID writer
Vehicle ECU registration Bluetooth OBD Reader Writer with OBDII Interface

A TPMS-specific OBD tool for supported vehicles that require compatible sensor IDs to be read from or written into the vehicle ECU. Useful for replacement sensors and wheel-set changes.

This is not a general fault-code scanner. OBD TPMS support must be available for the exact vehicle.

AUTOMATE A01 handheld TPMS diagnostic and service tool
Handheld diagnostics and service AUTOMATE A01 TPMS Diagnostic & Service Tool

A handheld TPMS service tool for triggering and reading compatible sensors, including sensor ID, pressure, temperature and battery condition. It can also program compatible AUTOMATE sensors using supported methods.

Best suited to tyre shops, workshops and users who need broader at-the-wheel sensor diagnostics.

DIY TPMS Master Kit with four sensors and programming tools
Complete sensor and tool package DIY TPMS Master Kit | 4 Sensors + Programming Tools

A complete package containing four compatible TPMS sensors, a Bluetooth programming tool, an OBDII programming interface and setup instructions for supported vehicle procedures.

Physical tyre fitting is still required. Compatibility and the exact programming method depend on the vehicle.

Which product performs each TPMS task?

This table provides a general comparison. Final support depends on the vehicle, sensor and applicable TPMS procedure.

Product Read or activate sensors Program or clone sensors Write IDs to vehicle ECU Includes sensors
Bluetooth Programmer Compatible sensors Yes — AUTOMATE sensors No No
OBD Reader Writer Vehicle/ECU data Workflow dependent Supported vehicles No
A01 Diagnostic Tool Yes AUTOMATE sensors No No
DIY Master Kit Included tool Yes Supported vehicles 4 sensors

TPMS diagnostic tool FAQs

Important differences to understand before choosing a tool.

What is the difference between programming a sensor and registering it through OBD?
Sensor programming prepares a compatible replacement sensor with the required protocol or ID. OBD registration writes the sensor IDs into the vehicle ECU when the vehicle requires direct registration.
Can the Bluetooth Programmer program every TPMS sensor?
No. The AUTOMATE Bluetooth Programmer is designed for compatible AUTOMATE sensors. It should not be assumed to program other sensor brands.
Is the OBD Reader Writer a general automotive scan tool?
No. It is a TPMS-specific tool for compatible sensor ID reading and writing procedures. It is not intended for general vehicle diagnostics or fault-code scanning.
Which option is best for a tyre shop?
The A01 is generally the stronger choice for at-the-wheel sensor triggering and service work. A workshop may also require the Bluetooth Programmer for compatible AUTOMATE sensors and the OBD Reader Writer for supported ECU registration procedures.
Does the DIY Master Kit include physical tyre fitting?
No. The Master Kit provides sensors and programming equipment. Internal TPMS sensors normally require physical installation by a tyre shop or suitable technician.

Confirm compatibility before ordering or programming

Individual product pages show the current price, availability, specifications and ordering details. Compatibility depends on the vehicle make, model, year, market, sensor brand, protocol and relearn method.
